MCT Oct Release Sneak #4

I hosted my very first garage sale back in August. My Mom and Sister-in-Law brought all the stuff they wanted to sell and we set up shop in my garage and driveway. Of course, we all had 'first dibs' on anything we wanted and as I saw my Mom lay out some clean, fresh, perfect for crafting bottle caps, I swiped them right up! Those babies were coming with ME!

I've held onto them for the last few months not knowing what I would do with them, but always keeping in mind that SOMEDAY I would need them. And that day has come.

My Creative Time's new stamp set, All Around Birthday Time, is full of great 'sentiments in the round' and comes with this awesome clock stamp. The hands are separate stamps in the set, so you can make it whatever time you want (it's 5 o'clock somewhere, right?). I stamped my clocks and hands and punched them out with a 1" circle punch. After placing them inside my bottle caps, I filled the caps with liquid applique and set them under a lamp to dry.

(Funny side note: Trying to be environmentally {and budget} conscious, my husband and I have switched almost all of our light bulbs in the house to high-efficiency. One of the pros to HE light bulbs is that they don't get hot. This is NOT a pro when you're trying to dry a pool of liquid applique! I had to SEARCH the house for non-HE light bulbs to speed up the drying process!)

I affixed my clocks to a couple of ball chains and added some fancy brads to the chain as well (just wrap the little 'legs' of the brads around the chain). I hot-glued one of the clocks to a clothes pin that I then hot-glued to the frame itself. I opted to remove the glass of the frame to allow for a couple of brads to be added to the background.

Along with All Around Birthday Time, I also used MCT's Whimsical Calendar Days and Cherish This Moment. The date in the frame (our wedding date) was cut out using MCT's Stitched Oval Die with the blue XL Label Die behind it.

This frame will make a wonderful addition to the gallery wall in my Creative Studio. And if necessary, will serve as an easy way for my husband to remember our anniversary! LOL
