MCT What A Treat Wednesday: First Easter Bunny Basket

by Veronica

Spring is in the air and Easter is just days away!!! Happy first day of April, everyone!

If you read my blog often, you know that I often bend the rules on my projects. Well, let's be honest. I break the rules. I cheat. There - I've said it.

For my "treat" project today, I've created a little banner for an Easter basket for a very special baby I know.

The basket, bunny and onesie are all from Target. I snipped off the St.-Paddy's-Day-green bow that the bunny had attached to its neck and stuffed it into the newborn-sized onesie. The bunny is so soft and will definitely be loved by the little one.

I kept the banner simple, but fun.

MCT Products Used
Build a Banner (banner flags)
Hello Chickie (basket die)
All Around Holidays (chocolate bunny + eggs)
Stitched Grass Die (grass in basket)

MCT 3D Wednesday: Egg-straordinary Box

by Veronica

Do you love packaging? Not just the 'brown paper packages tied up with strings'... but merchandise packaging... I love it! I've often called myself the 'ultimate consumer' - I'll buy anything if you package it pretty enough. *giggle*

Nowadays, so many things come in neat packaging - especially boxes! I recently upgraded my cell phone (I cracked the screen of my iPhone 4S in March 2012 and JUST NOW got a new phone. Buh-bye shattered screen!), and had the box my old phone came in still laying around. It's such a sturdy box. I figured I'd come up with a use for it one day. Praise the Lord, that day has come!

All it took was some patterned paper, solid card stock, a few stamps (listed below), the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge and an SU! Build a Brad to bring this treat box together. Oh yeah, don't forget the Cadbury Mini Eggs (The Hubs' favorite part of Easter).

My Creative Time Stamps Used
Spring Chicken Backgrounds
Happy Hunting

When re-covering boxes, don't forget to line the inside. This really adds a finished touch to it.

MCT February Release Blog Hop

by Veronica

Hey there, Hoppers! If you've arrived here from Trell's blog, you are on the right bunny trail! If not, I recommend going back to Emma's blog to start the hop from the beginning (and hear some exciting news!).

For today's project, I made a sweet little 3-1/2" square Easter card for my Hunny Bunny. After stamping the adorable trotting bunny (MCT's Happy Hunting) and coloring him with my Copics, I popped him up on the green shape that I cut using the XL Label Die. To get the grass to fit perfectly on the cut-out, I first punched the grass out with my Fiskar's Grass Punch and then ran that through my Big Shot with the XL Label Die.

I used Spring Chicken Backgrounds for the background patterns on the yellow square and green cut-out. To get the shiny look, I stamped them in Versamark and then embossed them with clear embossing powder. The sentiment was also stamped in Versamark, but I embossed it with white embossing powder so it really stands out. I cut the end of the sentiment piece into a little flag and (of course) I popped that up on the card. Letting the end hang off the card really adds some 'oomph' to the design.

MCT Sneak Peek #2

by Veronica

For today's Sneak Peek, we are showcasing the new My Creative Time stamp set, More Gift Card Sentiments. But don't let the name fool you! You can use these sentiments on all sorts of projects!

I used one of the sentiments in this set for this cute (and simple) Easter card. This precious pink bunny is a Martha Stewart felt sticker (found at my local Debby's Dollar - LOVE that store!). To 'floof' up his tail, I added a white pom pom. I gave the white square he sits on a bit more dimension by inking up the edges with my green marker.

Isn't that typewriter background AWESOME?!?! That's another little sneak I threw in for ya (Script Type Backgrounds). I embossed my sentiment in white on green card stock on notched the edge to make a little banner. I pop-dotted the middle of the banner up to give it that 'wavy' feel.

The green Swarovski rhinestones are also a Debby's Dollar find and give this card the added sparkle in needed.
