MCT Made In Minutes: Be Yourself Birthday Card + FREE Printable

by Veronica

Hey there! It's another Made In Minutes Monday with the My Creative Time Design Team! Today, I'm sharing a quick birthday card that has a lot of punch with its clean + simple design.

Tip: Birthday cards don't have to say "Happy Birthday" on them. A birthday is really just a celebration of a person. This saying may not be a traditional birthday sentiment, but it's perfect for my sister-in-law whose birthday is coming up soon!

MCT Products Used
Stitched Party Dies (banner dies)
4 x 4 Journal Die + More (white layer)
Girls' Night Out (sentiment)

The sentiment on this card is a great reminder of how fabulous YOU are, isn't it? Who can be YOU better than you can, right? On that same note, I'd love to share another FREE printable I created for you using a hot color palette that's trending right now.

You can click here to be taken to the original post for this 8" x 10" printable on my design site where you can download it absolutely free. Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping today. Be sure to check out the MCT blog to see what else the Design Team has in store for you.

I hope you were inspired!

MCT Thrifty Thursday: Oh Snap!

by Veronica

Several weeks ago, I tore apart my craft studio and reorganized it. Everything. You know what I've always had trouble with?

Click for a larger view of my binder
Scraps.

Ugh...what do you DO with them?

Well, I think I found the solution that works for me. I now put all of my solid color scraps into a zipper binder. Each color family has its own sleeve: corals, pinks, yellow/oranges, browns, blues, etc.

I've vowed to only keep scraps sized to be USABLE and that if I have a TON of one color of scraps, I won't save any more smaller pieces. This has helped to keep my scraps manageable and usable.

Having the binder has made all of my solid color scraps easily accessible. I can have the binder on my craft table and bring it with me to crops. When not in use, it easily slides into one of my drawers. I {love} having things organized.

Tip: By using a zipper binder, I don't have to worry about my scraps falling out. Even if they do come loose, they aren't going very far!

Do you have a great storage solution for your scraps? I'd love to hear about it in the comments!

My project for today's Thrifty Thursday with My Creative Time is made entirely of scraps!

Our niece, Jamie, has earned her GED and this card is to celebrate! She's interested in going back to school for photography, so I knew the camera die would be perfect for this non-traditional graduation card.

MCT Products Used
Label Font ("Oh Snap!")
Fun Variety On The Inside & Out ("Your hard work has paid off!)
It's All About You (chevron stamp)
All Around Holidays (star die)

MCT Made In Minutes: Paper Plane Birthday Card

by Veronica

I have a confession: very FEW of my projects are actually "Made In Minutes". I mean, they could be made in minutes if I didn't hem and haw over the design for a half hour...

This simple little card is for my Dad's birthday today. Yep, he's a St. Paddy's baby.

Leaving a lot of 'base card' around the edges gives this card a crisp look, but the popping up of layers adds a lot of dimension and interest.

MCT Products Used
Stitched 3 x 4 Journal Die
Fun Paper Airplane Die
Fly Away With Me Sentiments
Stitched Party Dies (balloon)

Thanks for stopping by to check out my Made In Minutes project today. You can see more fabulously quick projects from the Design Team on Emma's blog.

Fresh Colors + a FREE Printable

by Veronica

As a fellow crafter, you probably understand how difficult it can be to design something for yourself. I love to design cards, invitations, blogs and web graphics for people and know exactly what will work best for them. But when it comes to my own stuff? Pfffttt. I can be so indecisive.

Recently, my design site, VK Design Company, has undergone a MAJOR overhaul and I just LOVE the fresh colors I used. Yes, LOVE. In fact, I love them so much that I just re-colored this crafty blog to match (did ya notice?).

In celebration of this fresh new look, I'm offering a FREE printable on my design blog using the same colors.

Super cute, right? Just click here to be taken to the post with the download link. The VK Design Company logo will NOT be on your printed version.

Today I'm showcasing the little geotag dies from the new set, Never Be Lost. When I saw them, I just knew I wanted to use them on a heart with "you are here". To make it more clear what my intention was, I printed out "in my heart" (font: CK Carolyn) and popped it up below the heart. The map layer was also printed - just Google for a local map image.

MCT Tag It Tuesday: Chocolate Bunny Tag

by Veronica

Hey there! Today I'm sharing a tag that I'll be putting on my father-in-law's Easter basket this year. Every year he makes up a basket for all of us (adults included) and hides it for us to find. A few years ago, I realized that HE never got one! So The Hubs and I have taken on the role of Easter Bunny for him. Since he has so much candy left over from all of our baskets, we usually fill his with more than just candy. This year, I think we're going to put a few gift cards in. Shhh... don't tell him.

I used A LOT of MCT products on this little tag (listed below). I'd like to point out the little eggs in the basket. Any guesses? Those are the little 'humps' on the coordinating heart die in the All Around Holidays stamp set. I also used some leftover packaging for the cellophane around the basket.

MCT Products Used
All Around Holidays (eggs + bunny)
Hello Chickie (basket + larger stitched eggs + "Happy Easter")
Square Stitched Goodie Dies (yellow stitched square layer)
Tag Die (tag base)
Stitched Grass Die (grass in basket)

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my tag today! You can see more awesome tags from the rest of the Design Team on Emma's blog.

MCT Try Me Tuesday: Flamin' Birthday

by Veronica

For Try Me Tuesday with the MCT Design Team, we are showing you NEW ways to use your MCT dies. Something unexpected.

I've gotta be honest. When I saw that I was scheduled for this day, my first thought was: but I just did that. Twice. (here + here)

I thought I was out of ideas. But you know what?

With MCT, the possibilities are ENDLESS.

For this fabulous and simple birthday card, I used the ornament die from Warm Holiday Fun and the banner from Chocolate Greetings to make the candle. I swirled some Dazzling Details on the flame after coloring it in with my Copics.

The teal layer is embossed with Stampin' Up!'s Chevron Embossing Folder. The card was a cinch to make and is perfect for our nephew's 2nd birthday in May!

Wanna see some other great uses for MCT dies? Check out Emma's blog to see what the other designers have made today.

I hope you were inspired!
