Today is Day 4 of My Creative Time's 12 Days of Christmas. So far ALL of the projects have been fabulous, right?
This Christmas, The Hubs and I are giving several gift cards as presents. I just love gift cards! They say, I have no idea what you really want, but I'm pretty sure I know where you want it from. But then I have to figure out how to wrap the gift card. Of course, the MCT Embossed Gift Card Holder Die is a great option! But with so many gift cards to give, I like to have variety.

Note to anyone under the age of 21 reading: Cassette tapes are like .mp3s on strips of really thin brown plastic-y ribbon. If you ever try to use one, I recommend having a pencil nearby. *giggle*
My Mom has a whole box of these plastic cases and gave me two last week to figure out what we could use them for. Hey, Mom! Check this out! *giggle*
First I cut my patterned paper to fit and adhered it inside the case. I used a double-sided patterned paper so it would look pretty when shut and opened.

Very cute idea and I must say unique too. I love your little story eluding re: someone who has no idea what a cassette is...reminds me of a story re: my 6 year old granddaughter...we have a juke box which she loves to play and dance too....well it is not working right now and I told her if Papa can't fix it we can listen to the 45's on a record player...and she asks "what is a record player" this happened in August...My hubby & I are still laughing about it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to recycle old VHS cases. It's sad but true that many folks won't know what those are in a couple of years. This is such a great gift idea. Thanks for sharing.

It's all about the packaging when you are giving Gift Cards or Money. Makes it a most thoughtful gift.
ReplyDeleteLOL I had to do a double read when you said you used a cassette tape box to house your gift card in! I thought that you had said that wrong thing until I read the next part. lol What a clever and wonderful idea! Now if only I had me some of those darn cassette tape boxes! :-(

Great idea. I'm going to search my attic to see if I have any left. My first job was making windows for cassett tapes. The shades of blue and green you used are very pretty

I have to laugh...my first thought was, "Where in the world did she find a cassette tape?" Then I thought, "Wait! You have a whole case full of cassettes!" (DON'T JUDGE ME!! LOL) (Seriously, I'm laughing over here). This was genius! LOVE IT. As I saw it, I also thought we could hide gift cards inside crimped up paper packages. Thanks for that inspiration.
