MCT May Release Sneak Peek #3: Pocket Full of Birthday Wishes

by Veronica

Well, HELLO there! Thanks for dropping by today for another Sneak Peek of My Creative Time's May Release.

Today we're featuring Fun Pockets - a great set for so many occasions! My project is another 4" x 4" card (can you tell that I LOVE this size?). I used the die from this set for my jean pocket.

Tip: After many tries, I could NOT get the die to cut through my thick denim material (a pair of jean capris that have holes in them and were headed for the trash anyway). So I ran it through my Big Shot several times (using a few pieces of card stock for extra 'shims') to get the indent of the die on the fabric. Then, I just used my scissors to cut out the shape.

I stamped the flowers, colored them with my Copics, glittered them (Star Dust Stickles) and popped them up on my card to spill out of the pocket. See the 'stitching' on the outside of the red card stock? It's totally fake! I just paper pierced along the edges and used my white gel pen to connect the dots. The layout of this card is quite simple, but all the layers give it a much more detailed look.

This wouldn't be a party without GIVEAWAYS!
